Low Inductance Ceramic Capacitors (LIC Series)

Overview

Low Inductance Capacitors (LIC), often referred to as LIC SeriesReverse Geometry Capacitors (RGC) has its terminations on the longer sides of its rectangular shape (as opposed to the shorter side in a standard ceramic capacitor). Since the distance between terminations is reduced, the size of the current loop in the magnetic fields is reduced. 

The reduction in ESL varies by size, however, ESL is typically reduced 60% or more with an LIC versus a standard Ceramic Capacitor.
