Hi and welcome to the October issue of 1st Alert.

In this issue I'll mention two news items that are affecting engineers.

As you may have already heard in their recent announcement, Panasonic is getting out of the ceramic capacitor business. We understand that this may be disruptive to some of you. In this issue we will provide basic crossing information regarding Panasonic ECJ series part numbers in order to help engineers and buyers cross these to Venkel ceramic capacitors and provide an alternative source. See the link below to our "MLCC Drop-in Replacements" informational sheet.

An alternative source to MLCCs is especially helpful now with the current industry shortage of certain High Value MLCCs. A general tightening up is occuring with the 1206 and 1210 package sizes. To be sure, like everyone else, Venkel is experiencing longer than usual lead times on several "higher end" Hi-Caps but if you would like to consider an additional source then let us know. Feel free to contact me directly. However, we do have excellent stock on many Hi-Cap values and our lead times are some of the shortest in the industry.
